Regionals 2010

Upon Marissa's request, I finally viewed the videos of my skating from Portland. In the past, I have been nervous. But on this day, I was totally cool, calm, and focused. I was ready. Thus, I won, and won, and won. The event you are watching is the one that I beat the 2 time National Champion. I think she was shocked, to say the least.

This event is called figures. Each skater skates 3 different figures, tracing (or trying to) a thin black line, doing various turns forwards and/or backwards. Although it may look easy, it is hard and takes lots of concentration.

I am so glad Marisa asked for video's. Wow, I've watched you before, but you were totally tuned in to what you were doing. Congrats and I know you'll be great in Lincoln. Well, if you'll be brave enough to leave baby girl Arya with us and her dad while you, Zoie, Vance and Nana head out East. No presure-----just sayin'.

Carrie! You look so hot I would've given you first prize before you even started. I am amazed at your concentration and cool in front of the judges and audience. You look so graceful and strong. Way to go. Wish I could've been there Monday morning. Congratulations! We are all so proud of you! And Zoie!
